Help page
Curate tool supports managing and editing teasers that are published on the front page. The tool is designed for front-page editors and should not be used by other users unless they have permission to do so.
Changes provided within the tool will be directly exposed to all readers visiting the front page.
Page layout
The interface is divided into three main columns, which are:
Top positions
This column contains the teasers put on the very top of the front page. Their positions and their order are 100% manually controlled by the user. The number in the top-right corner informs about the position the current teaser is placed at.
Other positions
This column contains teasers guarantied to be exposed to all the readers. Their positions though are controlled by the algorithm and therefore the information about their positions can not be displayed in the tool. The order of the teasers in that column does not have implications in the front-page layout.
Latest articles
This column displays the articles that were recently published by the newsroom. It is possible to search for the particular teaser and filter the results by section, news value and lifetime.
The rectangular containers inside each column represent individual teasers of published articles.

Black dot - Black skin Red dot - Breaking Blue dot - Feature Orange dot - Live blog
Traffic light
Located in the top-left corner of each teaser. They inform about the performance of the teaser based on the Click Ranker.
If the light is green - that means the Click Ranker for that teaser reached above 80%, meaning teasers performs really well.
If the light is red - that means the Click Ranker for that teaser reached below 20%, meaning teasers does not perform well.
If the light is off - that means the teaser is performing within average norms
Click Ranker
The click ranker score, between 0 and 100, shows if a teaser is clicked more or less than expected. A score above 50 indicates that a teaser is performing better than expected, and a score under 50 indicates that it’s performing worse.
The number is calculated by comparing the teasers actual performance on live click through rate (CTR) based on its circumstances, and comparing it to the expected click through rate.
A green ligth on the score indicates that the teaser is very well-performing, red light indicates that it’s underperforming and that an action to optimize the teaser is recommended.
Impressions
The number of impressions shows how many IP numbers that have had the actual teaser on the screen (seen it) during the last 30 minutes.
Lifetime
The lifetime value shows what value is set on the individual article/teaser. There are three lifetime values; Short, Medium and Long. Based on the individual newsroom settings, this value controls how long time the article/teaser is in the mandate of Curate to promote on the front page.
News value
The news value shows what value is set on the individual article/teaser. The scale is from 0,5-5. Based on the individual newsroom settings, this value controls whether the article/teaser is in the Curate mandate to be promoted on the front page, and how it will be ranked.
